PRIVACY FRAMEWORK

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 4, 2026 • Version 1.1

1. Our Data Security Commitment

At PrintIn, we design self-service stationery printing systems with privacy at the core. Serving a diverse community of students, working professionals, small businesses, and walk-in individuals, we understand that your uploaded documents (personal records, business agreements, identity proofs, study notes, resumes, engineering sheets, and tickets) are confidential. Our architecture is built around strict data minimization—meaning we store only the bare minimum of details needed to route your print job from the cloud to the physical counter printer.

CRITICAL PRIVACY SAFEGUARD: MIDNIGHT PURGES

We do not permanently archive your files. Every night at 12:00 AM (midnight), an automated background cleanup job sweeps all print storage containers. All completed, cancelled, or abandoned documents are permanently purged from our cloud storage. We retain only anonymous metadata (such as page counts, monochrome/color mode, paper size, and timestamps) for local shop analytics and billing records.

2. Information We Collect

To deliver print orders smoothly and enable self-service counter collection:

  • Uploaded Documents: Temporary PDF, DOCX, and image files stored securely with cryptographic access tokens in encrypted cloud object storage (AES-256) until printed or purged at midnight.
  • Print Telemetry: Job parameters including color vs monochrome, duplex (double-sided) settings, copies, paper size, page ranges, and layout configurations.
  • Operator Contact Details & UPI Handles:Email addresses and phone numbers collected from store operators during registration for account provisioning and service alerts. We also store the operator's UPI Virtual Payment Address (VPA) solely to format direct peer-to-peer payment deep-links. PrintIn never collects, stores, or accesses customer banking credentials, UPI PINs, cards, or CVVs.
  • Store Location & Customer Geolocation:Landmark counter addresses, cities, and GPS coordinates provided by shop operators are displayed publicly on customer storefronts. When a customer uses the store locator (`/nearby`), device location is calculated strictly in-memory within the customer's browser; PrintIn never logs, profiles, or stores customer GPS coordinates.
  • Hardware Telemetry: Basic local printer names, capabilities (color/duplex/sizes), and online status communicated via the desktop operator client.

3. Confidential & PIN-Protected Print Safeguards

For sensitive materials—including financial records, legal affidavits, business plans, and personal identity documents—PrintIn offers an optional Confidential Print (PIN Lock) feature. When enabled by the user during upload, the document is secured with a customer-chosen 4-digit PIN. The document thumbnail, preview, and physical print execution remain locked and cannot be accessed by anyone until the customer physically enters their PIN at the shop counter.

4. Desktop Operator Client & Remote Printing

The PrintIn desktop app and Win 7 CLI bridge run locally on store counter PCs to receive print orders securely over SSL/TLS encrypted database channels and transmit raw print commands to local physical printers. The client processes documents strictly within the context of the active shop session. No document contents are permanently stored, indexed, or analyzed on local operator drives.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use lightweight browser `localStorage` and authenticated session tokens to maintain operator dashboard authentication and preserve dark/light theme preferences. PrintIn does not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking trackers.
